A word art festival in Amsterdam where you can enjoy spoken word, poetry, storytelling, comedy, and music. Wilde Woorden in Westerpark takes place across from Espressofabriek and is free to attend.

"Words in Motion" — a transdisciplinary experimental evening connecting spoken word with dance (of any discipline or style).

For this edition on December 3rd, Word Up invites spoken word poets and dancers, both professional and amateur, to collaborate and create original performances. The theme for this evening is 'Words in Motion', or moving words. 

The event blends the power of language with the expressiveness of movement, offering an immersive experience. By merging their art forms, poets and dancers will craft visually and emotionally resonant pieces, aiming to both entertain and inspire, while pushing creative boundaries.

This event is curated by Word Up in cooperation with KOSMOS and hosted by Margo van de Linde.

The evening is celebrating Word Up's partnership with the Stichting Unwanted Words Project and will feature an amazing line up of international and local artists, as well as an open mic session for anyone who feels inspired to share some words.

In addition to the performances, Word Up Amsterdam is a place for creatives and enthusiasts to come together as a community and connect.

The theme for this edition of Word Up is WANTED - exploring the profound topics of belonging and a sense of freedom. Through diverse voices and perspectives, we delve into the intricate balance between the human desire to be part of a community and the individual quest for personal freedom. WANTED edition invites you to reflect on these universal experiences, offering a platform to express and share stories that resonate with our shared and unique journeys.

It was an enchanting evening at the Van Gogh Museum to celebrate the creativity and spoken word poetry of amazing artists of the Word Up platform curated by Paradiso.

In homage to Jo Bonger, the showcase featured a lineup of exceptionally talented female poets & performers.
